This webinar focuses on Resource Recovery Parks and how they can contribute to Zero Waste plans. Resource Recovery Parks have been naturally evolving at landfills and transfer stations. These facilities provide reuse and recycling opportunities for all 12 market categories of materials and co-location of reuse, recycling, compost processing, manufacturing, and retail businesses in a central facility. Real world examples and key benefits to developing Resource Recovery Parks will be highlighted.
Students in the GreenEducation.us Certified Sustainable Resource Management Program provided questions about Resource Recovery Parks after reading background materials on this approach. Answers will be provided to those student questions as part of this webinar. There will also be time for follow-up questions and answers at the end of the webinar.

Ruth Abbe and Gary Liss will present.

Ruth Abbe is the president of Zero Waste USA, the national affiliate of the Zero Waste International Alliance. The mission of Zero Waste USA is to inspire communities to embrace and achieve Zero Waste. She is a Zero Waste practitioner with more than 25 years of experience in recycling and composting program and facility development.

Gary Liss is a leading advocate of Zero Waste and has worked on more community Zero Waste plans than anyone in the U.S., including Boston and the 1st second generation Zero Waste Plan, in Palo Alto. He is Vice-President of Zero Waste USA and a past President of the U.S. Zero Waste Business Council and the National Recycling Coalition.
